Draining Weekend...
March 24, 2003 2:56 pm

Friday night I made a new recipe (Oaxacan tacos from allrecipes.com) and we rented "Sweet Home Alabama". Dinner was yummy and the movie was very cute! It wasn't anything amazing or whatever but it was cute and light-hearted, which I needed.

Saturday we had planned to go on a bike ride at one of the forest preserves. But the day was dreary and not terribly warm, so we ended up bumming around most of the day. Jim had the war coverage on all day and I needed a break from it, so I spent most of the day in the office surfing the internet, updating our webpage and watching TV. Saturday night we went out to dinner. We hadn't been out on a Saturday night for five weeks (we usually go out every Saturday night), so it was fun to get out. We went to Smokey Bones for the first time and it was great! Afterwards, we went to the mall. I am on the lookout for cream dress sandals for my sister's wedding, so we went looking for those, plus a spring-y dress for their rehersal dinner and to wear to SIL's college graduation. Got home and Jim turned back to the war and I turned on Trading Spaces. The first showing of the second episode edited out the physical fight, so I had to catch the end of the second showing so I could see it. LOL

Sunday we had a lazy morning and then ran some errands (pet store, Sam's Club and wedding shower gift shopping). The weather was much nicer Sunday so when we got home, we took the bikes out and had a wonderful ride. It felt great to be riding. We got back and we started dinner (steaks on the grill--YUM!). The rest of the evening was spent cleaning, updating our webpage (put up St. Patty Day's pictures!), chatting on the phone and inputting some recipes into Mastercook and finding some new ones to try over the next few weeks.
